Time spent building others’ dream bikes doesn’t leave much room for a new bike for the builder themselves, but every now and then an opportunity presents itself and the builder gets a new bike all for themselves. This bike is one such opportunity.
Our most recent customer (who has asked to go by “E”) approached us with a very clear request on what she wanted in her new bike: disc brakes, a comfortable ride, and a bike she wouldn’t need to replace for a long time.
Inspired by the Arizona Desert and painted with care, the Albatross Abomination for ENelson gets a custom paintjob.
We come from a background of off-road racing so we knew that our take on a gravel bike wouldn’t be a simple tweaking of a road bike for more tire clearance a calling it good. We wanted to build a mountain-bikers gravel bike.
The Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) standard exists as a Trojan Horse of a standard. While this new frame standard has caused some headaches among framebuilders, it does bring with it a few benefits that we think outweigh the negatives.
